One that you should consider adding to your list is the Rural Life Museum located at LSU. It is an interesting attraction that you will love. The Rural Life Museum is locates at the Burden Research Plantation which is a 450 acre agricultural research station which is owned and operated by the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center. The purpose of the museum is to preserve and teach people about the rural culture existing in Louisiana today and that existed in the past. It tells the story about the heritage of everyone who has played a part in the development of this great states rural community. There are three parts to the museum. There is a collection of buildings which show the architectural of the different cultures in the state, there is a barn that contains artifacts from rural life from the past to the present and there is an actual working plantation. The plantation has all of the same buildings that a real nineteenth century plantation would have. It is an interesting attraction where you can actually learn something about the past.
